In the second official trailer for Life, astronauts aboard the International Space Station receive news that one of their crew members is a father to a new baby girl. Dr. David Jordan (Jake Gyllenhaal) tells us that their mission is to intercept a research pod from Mars. The team excitedly studies the contents of the pod, of what could be the first proof of life on another planet.

Things take a turn for the worse as one astronaut is attacked by the advanced life form. It is revealed that the creatures were actually responsible for wiping out life on Mars, and now they are on their way to do the same on Earth. The story "Goodnight Moon" is read aloud to us, as the team must find a way to destroy the alien life before it is too late.
