The official trailer for Brimstone opens in the Old West, as the preacher (Guy Pearce) cautions us to beware the false prophets in sheep’s clothing. We see Liz (Dakota Fanning) and her young daughter, who are gathered at a church. The menacing preacher says he is the sheepdog who gets the lambs back on track when they stray off the path. Liz’s daughter asks her if she is evil, because the reverend said he is going to take her back to where she came from.

The preacher’s gruesome punishments unfold, and the townspeople wonder if he’s ever going to stop. In the last shot, Liz stares defiantly at the reverend, and he gives an eerie warning that she should never leave her loved ones alone.
