The second trailer for the epic Ben-Hur opens as a man with shackles around his ankles surfaces in the ocean and washes ashore. The recognizable voice of Morgan Freeman can be heard saying, "You are an escaped prisoner." Shortly after, we put voice to face as Ilderim (Morgan Freeman) faces the prisoner and asks, "What is your name." The man's response: "Judah Ben-Hur."

As the trailer continues, we're offered a history lesson in the prisoner's life. Judah Ben-Hur (Jack Huston) was at one point a Jewish prince before being falsely accused of treason by his brother Messala (Toby Kebbell) and forced into slavery. Upon washing ashore after being shipwrecked, he's ravenous for revenge.

The trailer features the song "Ceasefire" by For King & Country and also provides a look at the film's religious elements, emphasizing the impact of Jesus Christ (Rodrigo Santoro) on Ben-Hur's life.

Ben-Hur opens in theatres August 19, 2016.
