In the official trailer for Lion, a group of young adults gets to know each other, and when one man asks Saroo Brierley (Dev Patel) where he's from, Saroo responds that he's adopted. He is at a restaurant table with his adoptive parents, but the man begins to remember some of the life in poverty that he had forgotten. He tells a woman he remembers his mother and brother, and we are taken back to the moment when he fell asleep on a train as a young boy, and was taken far away from his home. He decides as an adult that he is going to find his old home, but is told it would take a lifetime of researching. His adoptive mother does not want to lose him, but he still tries to find his way back.
