In the official trailer for T2 Trainspotting, Renton (Ewan McGregor) enters a bar and is spotted by a man playing pool. The man asks him what he's been up to for 20 years.

The trailer continues as Renton rides a streetcar and encounters several characters from his past. The following words are spoken: "Choose life. Choose Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and hope that someone, somewhere cares." Several elements characteristic of the first Trainspotting film are used as we're taken through a world where drug abuse, sex, violence, debauchery and chaos rule. Underworld's "Born Slippy" accompanies the images.
