When 70-year-old Oskar is told he only has six days left to live, he decides it's time to contact his brother who lives across the Atlantic. He wants to forgive him for past disputes and misunderstandings. When the two brothers were children they built a large tuba at the edge of the sea, Oskar hopes the sound will travel far enough for his brother to hear.
