At a school in the small village of Saint-Étienne-on-Usson, nestled in the heart of Auvergne, this film spends time (from December to June) with a class of 12 pupils from three to 12 years of age. Their teacher, Mr. George Lopez, not only provides an education for these children, but he solves the various conflicts and problems that occur between them. The audience witnesses the academic progress of the pupils, while particularly focusing on six of the children, sharing their efforts, joys and sorrows, their successes, obstacles and sometimes, their distress.
