When Sophie (Miranda July) and Jason (Hamish Linklater) decides to adopt a stray cat their perspective on life changes radically. Forced to leave the ailing cat at the vet for a month before they can officially integrate him into their lives, they suddenly grow confused about their prospects together. Jason quits his work-at-home gig as a customer service rep and joins a volunteer service to save trees, while Sophie decides to devote her life to dance.
