Fate and circumstance bring several ordinary individuals face-to-face with the need for human connection in this four-episode slice-of-life saga from Spain.

In one substory, a young couple, Martin and Jana, must contend with their inability to have children given his abnormally low sperm count; in a second, financially-strapped single mother Lida must aggressively fight off the advances of promiscuous men interested in bedding her; in a third, a middle-aged man nicknamed The Coach begins to recognize the breadth of his lifelong mistake - focusing on career at the expense of a wife and family; and in a fourth, an elderly woman living in a farmhouse suffers from extreme loneliness and awaits her own death.
