In the town of Oxnard, California, a neighborhood is rocked when one of their friends is brutally murdered. In her apartment, they find splattered bloodstains, old VHS tapes of friends and remnants of black magic practice. Most surprising are the pictures of Jesse (Andrew Jacobs), who had never met the murdered woman.

The next morning Jesse wakes up from a night of crazy dreams to find a circular bite mark on his arm. Later, when Jesse and his friend are confronted by muggers, he pushes them away with superhuman strength that he didn't know he possessed. He begins to sweat excessively during the night and finds black goo seeping from his eyes.

When the family investigates, they find this has happened to other people and discover that those who are marked become "permanent hosts" for demons. With the help of an exorcist, Jesse's family and friends work to save him from the demon while trying to survive the supernatural horror that comes with it.
