Looking for Anne
Anri, a young girl from Tokyo, and her grandmother decide to travel to Prince Edward Island. When her grandmother suddenly dies before the trip, Anri goes by herself. She stays with Mari, a widow who runs an inn and who was a close friend of the deceased. In truth, Anri is looking for clues that might lead her to a World War II veteran who was her grandmother's lost love. Her quest leads her to two fellow clients of Mari, as well as an eccentric neighbor who's in love with Mari. Before long the day of departure approaches, and the girl still has not found the man whom her grandmother, who loved the novel "Anne of Green Gables," nicknamed Gilbert, after the book's love interest.
