Poet and novelist Claude Messier enjoyed a full life and a successful career despite a serious degenerative illness which deprived him from childhood of the use of all his limbs. The film presents the final days of this remarkable man, who was one of the first Canadians to be permitted to smoke marijuana for therapeutic reasons.
His battles for recognition of the right to work, to a decent life, to sexuality and to dignity in all forms are shown.
