Roberto, a bitter and lonely man in his fifties, owns a small hardware store in Buenos Aires. When not at work, he stays inside his small adjacent apartment, where he devotes his leisure time to collecting newspaper cuttings of unusual deaths and arranges them in an album. Although his pretty neighbor, Mari, shows an interest in him, Roberto does nothing to encourage her, preferring to remain solitary. One day he sees a taxi pull to a stop and a young Chinese man is thrown out. The distraught young man is Jun, who doesn’t speak a word of Spanish. Roberto takes him in and after getting a Chinese deliveryman to translate for him, learns Jun’s dramatic story.
