Though the tabloids trumpet otherwise, renowned model Scheherazade has come to a posh private medical/mental hospital to have an ulcer removed, not to have cosmetic surgery. She is fairly ill and in no mood to field the almost frightening attentions of Dr. Storey.
She finds solace in a friendship with Kore, a ballerina suffering from anorexia and the delusion that she eats compulsively in her sleep. Because of this, she begs Scheherazade to tie her down at night. Their friendship creates the axis on which the provocative, experimental plot turns.
