I love the Tillicum Twin

March 21, 2023

The Tillicum Twin has personality. It doesn't feel like an antiseptic corporate multiplex. The original building is from 1954. The 'Twin' part came in 1974 with a second screen, making it the same age as me. It had one owner, Bill Young for over 50 years (1967 to 2018) and is still family run. I love the pictures on the wall keeping the history and the totem pole logo. in 2021 they added new captain's chairs. I've been to multiple private screenings and appreciate the support this theatre gives the community. Have seen multiple 3D movies with my kids. The wait at the concession is never long and the prices are reasonable by movie theatre standards. A large soft drink at Cineplex is $6.99, $3.75 for an XL at Tillicum. At Cineplex a small popcorn is between $4.75 and $7.25 at Tillicum it's $3.75. This place made me actually want to go out to movies again. Don't change.

Please go somewhere else

To the ....out of touch owner comment.. This theatre will never compete with big guys. Tillicum is family owned and I believe the owner custom designed the holders to work for patrons. Go to Rupert Cineplex. They have everything you need. We love our theatre and all the community support it brings. Yes for over 50 years!!!

Out of Touch Owners

April 09, 2019

Place has barely changed in 30 years. Making the outside "nice" doesn't change the movie going experience. Basically tin foil cup holders installed shows they put very little effort and money into improving the place. The lobby looks like you have stepped into the late 80s/early 90s. Sound is sub par and the screens are mediocre especially considering what people have at home now. Also, ushers need training not to point flashlight at audience while checking out theatre while movie is playing. Posting information on Facebook that is left out on the main website proves the owners are out of touch.

Studios control everything

April 06, 2018

They are bringing good movies but the big guys control it. I see there are some improvements coming. Renovations are planned from what i heard from the owner. and they have the best and friendliest staff. If you don't like something why don't you mention it to the owners instead of hiding behind an internet feedback page.

Cheapest entrance rates, friendly service.

January 16, 2017

While the theatre may not be the most up to date, it is comfortable and practical. Owners are friendly and always bring in the latest and most popular movies. Admission prices are fantastic, especially if you have ever went to a ciniplex or other theatre out of town. You never have to wait to long at the concession, which also has very reasonable prices. It's a town land mark and while many complain it should be updated, I don't think they would be as happy with the price that would go along with those updates. I love the theatre as it is. Only complaint is I wish seats had a cup holder. Would also be great if concession had some dinner or nacho options.

It has character--unlike those soulless ones elsewhere...

December 20, 2016

Everybody's weirdly obsessed with the New, with New this or New that, and they don't care about the genuine magic that such old places possess...
